Last weekend in Sydney was an absolute corker for light and sunsets!

Driving home from this shoot I felt so very privileged to be out there doing what I love and immensely grateful for the clients who trust me to do my best work for them. It is this trust that allows me to carry on working as a photographer so I can pay the mortgage and the countless other bills that come rolling in day after day and my heart fills with gratitude with each and every booking. Thank you Kisschasey clients xxx

This beautiful family are from the States and enjoying their final month in Sydney before heading back to start the next chapter of their life in Texas. They have loved their time in Australia and wanted to capture the spirit of their year long adventure here in Sydney! What could be more Sydney then a beautiful sunshiney afternoon, views of sailing boats on the harbour and an hour or two messing around on the beach as the sun goes down?

The weather last weekend was about as perfect as it gets in this neck of the woods. Calm sea, no wind, brilliant blue sky and 100% haze free sunshine, not too hot, not too cold…just right! If there is ever a time to get a family shoot i’m still pegging April or May as consistently the best months to do it!

I do love photographing babies and toddlers; their unpredictable and honest nature keeps me on my toes, but it was a delightfully refreshing change to document the spirited energy of this lovely family with older kids. The sibling dynamic is quite different and wonderful to watch and capture for posterity!

Berry is arguably the best place on the South Coast to hang out in the autumn leaves! Follow up with a chaser of seven mile beach at sunset and you’ve pretty much got a perfect mother’s day photography session in the bag : )

Clients often ask me if they can bring their dog along to their family photo shoot and the answer is always YES! A family pet is as much a part of our lives as any other member of the family so i’m delighted to include them in our sessions whenever possible!

The golden retriever in these shots is called Rufus and he was ALMOST as adorable as his two little playmates : )

I do enjoy it when a client gently shoves me out of my comfort zone by suggesting a location that i’ve never held a family photo shoot at before. It gets me out and about exploring the local area with local knowledge and introduces me to all that is most beautiful in the Illawarra and South Coast regions. This gorgeous family introduced me to the famous (little did I know) and very beautiful Sandon Point and what a lovely spot it is. Thanks for adding another amazing south coast photography location to growing list : )

This was the second shoot in a series of four we have planned to document the first year as a family for these lovely folks. You can view the first one here.

Already Baby S is crawling and so cheeky with her smiles and cuddles. I really appreciate the opportunity to photograph a family multiple times in the same year. I love how relaxing it is when my clients already know what to expect from their session. The ease in which they immediately relax into “just being” and enjoy the time away from all the usual stress of daily life, soaking up these special moments with their loved ones!

p.s Also, Balmoral Beach just never fails as an awesome location at this time of year. Gotta love how it is almost deserted in these months leading up to colder weather even though the day was actually so warm and inviting!

Earlier this year a producer from the Kyle and Jackie O show contacted me about helping out a family that had been in touch with them. Just before Christmas, Michael was diagnosed with Terminal Liver Cancer and his sister wrote to the show to ask if they could help them. One of their dearest wishes was a family portrait all together and I was delighted to donate my time to help these guys out and create a beautiful set of images of their family for them!

Such a dear family and these kids…they were the cutest! So good and beautifully behaved. Not that I mind a cheeky little tantrum-throwing kids that run off every two seconds…that is after all the challenge of my job to keep them engaged, happy and interested but it is nice to have an easy job occasionally : ) Little stars, these two!

Alimah and Michael, you are doing an awesome job. Rooting for you guys and I hope all the news is good!

This gorgeous family won a gift voucher that we donated to help the fund-raising efforts at the Giant Steps Black Tie Ball. Giant Steps was founded to help educate children and families experiencing autism, to alleviate associated stress and to guide in the achievement of measurable results. We have friends with a child at the school so I’m grateful  to be able to help in any small way to raise the millions of dollars they need to keep the school funded each year!

I have so much respect for this dear mum… three beautiful children under three. One second from unleashing them for their pram and all three beautiful girls run in three different directions with wild abandon…so happy to be free to explore. I so loved photographing their happy energy and independent spirits!

A gorgeous couple that drove down from Canberra to enjoy an afternoon together on the beach!
